Cairo – Mubasher: Infinity Solar Systems will inaugurate a 50-megawatt solar plant in Benban, at the Upper Egypt governorate of Aswan next week, chairperson Mohamed Shehata said.

The Egyptian company has already finished the trial operation, as well as completed linking production capacity to the electricity national grid, Shehata added, giving no further details on the value of the project. 

Infinity Egypt is the first company to implement a solar plant under the Electricity Ministry's feed-in tariff scheme, he noted.

Electricity minister Mohamed Shaker is anticipated to attend the opening ceremony, he highlighted.

On 8 November 2017, Shaker inaugurated the first power plant in Benban solar power complex.
