Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabian investment firm Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) on Thursday has signed a contract with Orange Business Services of France.

The contract entailed providing designing the information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart services for Jeddah Tower & Jeddah Economic City Project, according to KHC's statement. 

The Riyadh-listed company inked the agreement on behalf of the Jeddah Economic Company (JEC) partners which include Kingdom Holding Company.

Upon the completion, Jeddah Tower will be one of the world’s great tourist attractions and one of the region's most attractive places to live and work, KHC CEO Talal Almaiman said.

The project will use the state-of-the-art digital technologies for smarter living and working environment, Almaiman highlighted, adding that it also will create thousands of jobs and boost the Saudi economy.

“The project aims to offer an advanced quality of life in a mixed use environment; with residential apartments of different types, offices, retail leisure and entertainment, hotels and tourism attractions public and cultural amenities,” Jeddah Economic City CEO Mounib Hammoud stated.

KHC gave no further details on the value of the deal or its timeframe.

Orange Business Services has large operations in a slew of smart city projects in the kingdom, including the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD).
