Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Sunday’s trading session with a mixed performance; the benchmark price index retreated 0.23% or 15.31 points to 6,762.87 points.

The weighted index also edged down 0.07%, while the Kuwait-15 index added 0.07%.

Boursa Kuwait’s turnover decreased to KWD 8.72 million on Sunday compared to KWD 10.76 million in the previous session after the trading volume increased to 54.17 million shares from 50.01 million.

Oil and gas companies led five decliners with 1.89%, dragged by IPG and PetroGulf which lost 11.3% and 2.7%, respectively.

The Industrial segment levelled down 0.37%, dragged by National Industries which lost 13.9%

Ithmaar fell by 6.5%, impacting the banking sector to go down 0.30%.

Meanwhile, the financial services sector topped six gainers with 0.34%, endorsed by Inovest which rose by 4.2%.

Marakez led losers with 15.89%, while National Consumer Holding topped the winners with a rise of 20%.

Kuwait Syrian was the most active stock on which 5.1 million shares were traded. The stock went up 3.68%.

Up 0.13%, the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) posted the highest trading value of KWD 2.9 million.
