Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s River Transport Authority awarded an EGP 280 million no-bid contract for dredging works in the Nile from Nag Hammadi to El Qanater El Khayreya to Egyptian Dredging Company (EDC), according to an official statement released on Monday.

The EDC’s budget is not enough for funding the planned developments, the authority’s president Abdul Azim Muhammad told Mubasher.

Encroachments on land allocated to the EDC were discussed with the Egyptian Presidency’s advisor for national projects and various countermeasures were proposed, which will be implemented following the conclusion of the presidential election, the top official concluded.
