QSE jumps 169 pts at Tuesday’s open
The QSE's general index grew 1.95% to 8,831.64 points

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Tuesday’s trading session in the green, encouraged by the growth of Qatar National Bank's (QNB) and Industries Qatar’s stocks on the back of increasing non-Qatari ownership to 49%.

By 10:05 am Qatar time, the general index grew 1.95% or 168.60 points to 8,831.64 points. Turnover amounted to QAR 202.4 million after 4.2 million shares were traded through 1,500 transactions.

The banking sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 2.98% as QNB jumped 6.78%. Similarly, the industrial sector went up 2.86% on the back of Industries Qatar’s 6.45% increase.

On the flipside, the transportation sector topped the market’s losers falling 1.33% as Qatar Navigation and Qatar Gas Transport declined 1.5% and 1.47%, respectively.

The real estate sector went down 0.30% due to Ezdan Holding Group’s 0.95% drop.

Investment Holding Group’s stock led the bourse in terms of trading volume with 871,800 shares, while QNB’s stock led the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 98.8 million.
