Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Wednesday’s trading session down, pressured by the drop of all sectors.
By 9:55 am Qatar time, the general index fell 160.89 points, or 1.83 %, to 8,640.86 points.
Turnover amounted to QAR 52.1 million after 1.7 million shares changed hands through 700 transactions.
The insurance sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 4.36% on the back of Al Khaleej Takaful Group’s 6.28% decline.
The banking sector went down 2.44% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) decreased 4.18%, while the industrial sector levelled down 2.09% after Industries Qatar declined 2.79%.
Qatar Insurance’s stock led the bourse in terms of trading volume with 722,800 shares, generating QAR 26.1 million.
