EGX closes Thursday in green on CIB’s rise
Market capitalisation lost EGP 374.8 million

Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX), EGX30, closed Thursday’s trading session 0.70% or 117.38 points higher at 16,999 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) gained 3.22% to close at EGP 89.98 at a total trading value of EGP 909.9 million.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 374.8 million to EGP 972.4 billion.

The small- and medium-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.03% to EGP 899.82 points, while the broader EGX100 index rose by 0.18% to EGP 2,271 points.

EGX’s turnover amounted to EGP 3.4 billion after 418.28 million shares were exchanged through 37,690 transactions.

Foreign investors tended to execute purchasing transactions with EGP 349.9 million, while the Egyptian and Arab investors focused on selling transactions valued at EGP 175.5 million and EGP 174.4 million, respectively.

Citadel Capital was the top winner with 9.7%, while Elsewedy Electric led losers with 6.6%.
