QSE marks 2nd straight session high Tuesday
The insurance sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 4.12%

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday’s trading in the green, for the second session in a row, supported by the growth of six sectors.

The general index rose 87.93 points, or 0.99%, to close at 8,977.85 points.

The QSE’s liquidity jumped to QAR 521.45 million on Tuesday from QAR 335.93 million on Monday, while the trading volume increased to 23.95 million shares against 15.84 million in the previous session.

The insurance sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 4.12% as Qatar Insurance and Al Khaleej Takaful grew 8.03% and 4.23%, respectively.

Similarly, the industrial sector increased 1.84% on the back of Gulf International’s 9.78 hike, while the banking sector inched up 0.42% as National Leasing Company went up 7.67%.

On the flipside, the goods sector was the bourse’s only decliner falling 0.28% after Zad Holding Group levelled down 3.85%.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which decreased 0.12%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 4.8 million shares, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which dropped 0.43%, topped the bourse in terms of liquidity with QAR 80.01 million.
