Mubasher: The Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abo Elgheit has expressed concerns over the joint air strikes by the US, France, and the UK in Syria, saying it could further complicate the situation.

Abo Elgheit told reporters on the sidelines of the Arab Summit, which will be launched tomorrow in Dammam, that military actions could have been avoided, but the parties involved especially the Syrian regime, is held responsible for the current problem, after the use of prohibited chemical weapons against innocent civilians.

The secretary also noted that a sustainable political solution is needed for the crisis, in which Arab counties should play an integral role.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres has reiterated his worries regarding the Syrian crisis, and the retaliation between the United States and Russia.

Guterres called for investigating the use of chemical weapons in Syria, adding that the country which has been divided in civil war for years is the most serious threat to international peace and security.
