Saudi halts King Khaled Int'l Airport privatisation talks
The GCC country is revisiting the privatisation plan of the kingdom's second-biggest airport

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia has suspended plans to privatise King Khaled International Airport, informed sources said.

The GCC country is currently revisiting the privatisation plan of the kingdom's second-biggest airport, as the plan may be turned to a concession instead of privatisation, Reuters reported on Wednesday, citing the sources as saying.

In July 2017, sources said the Saudi government had hired Goldman Sachs to manage Saudi Civil Aviation Holding Company (SAVC) to sell a minority stake in King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

In April 2017, SAVC’s president Faisal Al Sugair stated that the Saudi airports would be under the management of Public Investment Fund (PIF) in 2018, as part of airports privatisation plans.
