EGX ends Thursday in green; market cap gains EGP 3.9bn
EGX30 index edged up 75.15 points, or 0.42%, finishing the session at 17,781 points

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session up on the back of Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index edged up 75.15 points, or 0.42%, finishing the session at 17,781 points.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 3.9 billion and closed at EGP 981.4 billion.

The small- and medium-caps EGX70 index added 0.82% to 867.15 points, while the broader EGX100 index levelled up 0.77% to 2.273 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.21% to 3,015 points.

Trading volume on stocks reached nearly 262.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.4 million through 30,900 transactions.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) gained 0.7% to 89 at a turnover of EGP 43.4 million.

Pioneers Holding’s stock led top losers with a 7.13% drop, followed by Amer Group and Global Telecom which fell 2.63% and 2.44%, respectively.

On the other hand, Qalaa Holding topped rising blue chips with a 7.11% increase, followed by Egypt Aluminium and Telecom Egypt which rose 5.5% and 2.34%, respectively.
