Nike senior executives’ exodus stumbles growth – analysts

Mubasher:  Analysts warned that high-level departures, would grow into a major obstacle to Nike’s future growth, after the leading footwear maker announced that it received complaints regarding improper workplace behavior.

“The foundation of Nike’s future plans were established by many of the departing executives,” said analysts at Susquehanna Financial Group.

“Those departing executives were expected to execute the plans as well, which was evident by Mr. Edwards’ leading role in last fall’s investor day,” the analysts added, referring to Trevor Edwards former Nike’s president, who resigned last month.

That being said, personnel filing vacant senior roles would take time before they reach performance levels of the departing executives, analysts added.

In 2015, Nike projected that its annual revenues will total to $50 billion. However, the recent departures are likely to affect that goal.
