Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Aldar Properties has announced that it has begun handovers at two of its newest prime developments in Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi-based and listed firm began delivering units at Nareel Island, which it describes as “a prime destination and one of Abu Dhabi’s most exclusive islands on the coast in Al Bateen.”

The announcement, made late Saturday, comes as part of Aldar’s quarterly portfolio update statement, where it also unveiled handing over units at Al Merief, a development marketed to UAE Nationals and located in Khalifa City.

Abu Dhabi’s mega-developer previously awarded an AED 1.3 billion main contractor package for its Water’s Edge development, housing 2,255 residential units as well as exercise and recreation facilities, restaurants and cafes, retail space and a waterfront promenade on Yas Island.

As for Aldar’s luxury golf and waterfront apartment development, Mayan, the company said it completed substructure work, while superstructure was underway across the project.

Building activity continues for 652 villas and townhouses in Aldar’s Yas Acres continues, the firm noted, adding that its The Bridges development on Reem Island, which features six buildings housing 1,272 homes, was progressing, with main works set to begin “imminently.”

In Al Ain, Aldar Properties’ expansion and renovation work of Al Jimi Mall, its flagship asset in the emirate, is in its final stages. The mall is slated for completion by the end of 2018 and will see the addition of 33,000 square metres of retail, leisure, and food and beverage space, bringing total GLA to 76,000 square metres.
