UAE - Mubasher: Wasl Asset Management Group intends to launch new 15 hotels of which 80% will be classified as three-star and four-star, the CEO of Wasl, Hesham Abdullah Al Qassim, said, according to Emarat Alyoum Newspaper.

The new 15 hotels will include 4500 rooms, Al Qassim added.

Wasl plans to launch a total of 29 hotels with 10,000 rooms in the coming period.

Al Qassim noted that the portfolio of Wasl Hospitality and Leisure, a subsidiary of Wasl Asset Management, includes 14 hotels that include 4,354 luxurious rooms and 1,314 hotel rooms.

The CEO noted that the hotels sector in Dubai registered the highest occupancy rate of 77.7% in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region during 2017.

Meanwhile, the hotels occupancy rate in Abu Dhabi recorded 77.1%.

Wasl’s CEO also noted that the preliminary information showed that Dubai will record strong performance in March 2018.
