Dubai – Mubasher: Finland is taking part in Arabian Travel Market 2018 (ATM), held on 22-25 April in Dubai, for the first time.

This debut came as a result of the increased number of UAE visitors in 2017 by 30% to 10,000, according to a recent press release by the Finnish tourist authority (Visit Finland).

The Finnish delegation at the ATM includes a range of unique hotels and resorts, high-end tours, and destination management companies, the press added.

Visit Finland attributed the increase in UAE visitors to a rise in direct flights to the Finnish capital, Helsinki, in a bid to increase this number on the back of its debut on the Emirati exhibition with a new marketing campaign targeting the Middle East tourists.

The authority is currently willing to explore other markets than Europe, such as the Middle East, including the UAE, followed by Saudi Arabia, the press highlighted.

It is worth noting that Finland was recently voted as the world’s safest country in 2017 by the World Economic Forum, while the UAE came in the second spot.
