Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session up on the back of foreign and local buying.

By 10:24 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 91.49 points, or 0.51%, to 17,989.58 points.

The EGX70 index inched up 0.12% to 866.7 points, and the EGX100 index added 0.24% to 2,279 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.85% to 3,089 points.

Trading volume on stocks reached nearly 80.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 163.5 million through 3,500 transactions.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 10.49 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 7.3 million and EGP 3.16 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.75% to EGP 89.01, with a turnover of EGP 177,600.
