Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a mixed note amid foreign and Arab buying against local selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index edged up 41.26 points, or 0.23%, to 18,121.9 points.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 994.7 billion and gained EGP 1.6 billion.

The EGX70 index dipped 0.3% to 860.62 points, while the EGX100 index slipped 0.29% to 2,266 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index shed 0.75% to 3,064 points.

Trading volume reached nearly 333.39 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.4 billion through 34,600 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 135.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 44.6 million and EGP 90.8 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 1.99% to EGP 92.39, with a turnover of EGP 119.9 million.
