Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday in the red after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) plunged 0.99% or 82.37 points to 8,233.05 points, whereas the parallel market index ended higher.

TASI’s trading volume fell to 213.19 million shares on Wednesday from 295.21 million shares on Tuesday, while liquidity retreated to SAR 4.43 billion ($1.18 billion) from SAR 6.06 billion ($1.6 billion).

The banks, materials, and telecommunication services sectors went down 1.63%, 0.95%, and 0.92%, respectively.

On the other hand, the media sector jumped 8.15%, while pharmaceuticals increased 1.25%.

Saudi Dairy and Foodstuff Company’s (SADAFCO) stock was the worst performer, falling 5.65% to close at SAR 106.80, whereas the Saudi Research and Marketing Group’s stock grew 8.51%, reaching SAR 119.6.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock, up 2.05% to close at SAR 14.46, was the most active in terms of traded volume and value after 52.4 million shares were exchanged, generating SAR 756.3 million.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, jumped 0.95% or 30.15 points, reaching to 3,213.14 points.

Al-Samaani Factory for Metal Industries’ stock topped Nomu risers with 4.12%, reaching SAR 48, whereas the stocks of Al-Kathiri Holding Company and Raydan Co fell 8.17% and 0.93%, respectively.
