Cairo – Mubasher: El Sewedy Electric Co has won a $20 million international tender for the rural electrification project in Mauritania.

The project aims to provide approximately 30 districts with electricity in Aftout El-Chargui, Nouakchott, state-run news agency MENA reported, citing Mauritanian government officials.

Moreover, the project will be financed through the World Bank and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

Earlier this month, the Egyptian cable maker said it seeks to obtain a credit facility to establish two wind farms with $900 million in investments in collaboration with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation and the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar).
