QSE sheds 21 pts Thursday
The general index inched down 21.63 points, or 0.24%, to 9,088.01 points.

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Thursday’s session in the red, dragged down by the fall of five sectors, coinciding with trading decline.

The general index inched down 21.63 points, or 0.24%, to finish the last session of the week at 9,088.01 points.

By the end of the session, the QSE’s liquidity dropped to QAR 194.89 million from QAR 330.43 million on Wednesday, while the trading volume went down to 7.80 million shares against 12.51 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’s decliners falling 0.60% as Ezdan Holding Group and Mazaya Real Estate Development levelled down 1.50% and 0.83%, respectively.

The banking sector fell 0.50% as Qatar National Bank (QNB) went down 0.91%, while the industrial sector decreased 0.35% after Qatar Industrial Manufacturing retreated 2.01%.

On the other hand, the transportation sector topped the bourse’s gainers adding 3.73% as Al Khalij Takaful plunged 4.17%.

By the end of the session, Mesaieed’s stock, which dropped 1.44%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 1.3 million shares, generating QAR 21.7 million in a liquidity.
