UK BP mulls raising investments in Egypt
BP Plc has been in talks with the Egyptian petroleum ministry over bunkering investment opportunities

Cairo – Mubasher: Oil giant BP Plc has been in talks with the Egyptian petroleum ministry over bunkering investment opportunities and upgrading refining processes.

This came on the sidelines of a meeting between Egyptian petroleum minister Tarek El-Molla and BP’s CEO Alan Haywood, according to a press release.

These negotiations were complementary to talks begun last February in London within the framework of the national project to turn Egypt into a regional energy hub, El-Molla said.

Both parties have agreed on forming a joint working group to study different means of cooperation and set implementation mechanisms and time programmes to begin execution, the minister highlighted.

In mid-April, the UK-based oil and gas firm said that it aims to produce around 1.3 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas production from the West Delta project following the completion of development phases.
