Cairo - Mubasher: Eni has started the second production unit of Egypt's Zohr natural gas field in the Mediterranean Sea.

The second unit will increase capacity of the Egyptian field by 400 million standard cubic feet per day.

The mega field current capacity is 800 million cubic feet per day, 150,000 barrel of oil equivalent (boe) per day, of which 46,000 goes to Eni.

The Italian energy giant plans to raise 1.2 million cubic feet per day by May 2018, 2 million cubic feet per day by the end of 2018, and the 2.7 million cubic feet per day in 2019.
