Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt aims at increasing urban areas by 12% to 14% in the coming period in an effort to face overpopulation, deputy housing minister Assem Al Gazar has said.

To this end, the Arab world's most populous nation plans to implement many housing units in a bid to fit different segments topped by social housing projects for the low-income brackets, according to the ministry’s recent statement.

Al Gazar’s statement came on the sideline of a meeting with Saudi officials to brief them on the Egyptian affordable housing experience.
