Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Bilateral trade between Saudi Arabia and the emirate of Abu Dhabi registered AED 1.4 billion ($380 million) in January.

The emirate’s imports from Saudi Arabia grew to AED 950 million in the first month of 2018, compared to AED 888 million in the year-ago period, according to a report released on Monday by the Statistics Centre of Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

Abu Dhabi’s re-exports to Saudi Arabia soared to AED 230 million in January from AED 152 million in the same period of 2017, while the emirate’s exports to the biggest economy in the GCC dropped to AED 205 million in the same period.

Total trade between the kingdom and Abu Dhabi recorded AED 17.4 billion last year, accounting for 11.1% of the emirate’s total foreign trade, the SCAD revealed.
