Dubai – Mubasher: France-based Egis Group has been awarded the consultancy services contract in Etihad railway network’s stage 2 and 3.

Both stages will add 850 kilometres to Etihad’s current railway network and will connect it to the Saudi network by 2024, MEED magazine reported.

The project is expected to boost the transportation sector in the UAE and the GCC in general and contribute to the government's endeavours to the nation’s economic, political, and social goals.

The deal's value was not disclosed.
