Dubai – Mubasher: The consumer price index (CPI), or inflation, in the emirate of Dubai decreased by 0.32% to 1.79% in April from 1.80% in March, data released on Thursday showed.

The decline is attributed to a decrease in prices in the housing, water and electric utilities, and gas and fuel segment by 0.42%, the Dubai Statistics Centre (DSC) said in its report. It also ascribed the CPI fall to decreases in the transport segment by 1.10%, and food and beverages segment by 0.29%.

Meanwhile annual inflation for the housing, water and electric utilities, and gas and fuel segment fell 1.91%, while entertainment and culture dropped 11.25%.
