QCSD raises foreign ownership limit to 49%

QCSD raises foreign ownership limit to 49%
The decision will be implemented starting from Monday 21 May 2018

Mubasher: Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) announced that it had increased foreign ownership limit of Qatari Investors Group to 49%.

The decision will be implemented starting from Monday 21 May 2018, according to QCSE’s filing to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) late Sunday.

It is worth noting that Qatari Investors Group’s capital amounted to QAR 1.24 billion distributed on 124.33 million shares.

The step has come after CEO of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) Rashid Al Mansoori urged all the QSE-listed firms to increase non-Qatari share ownership to 49% in an effort to enhance the investment attractiveness of Qatari companies.

The decision also comes in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 9 of 2014.
