Mubasher: The President of the United States, Donald Trump announced on Thursday calling off his planned summit meeting with the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un.

The meeting, which was scheduled to be held on 12 June in Singapore has been delayed or maybe canceled, according to a letter released by the White House.

“I was very much looking forward to being there with you… Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting,” Trump said in the official letter to his North Korean counterpart.

The move comes despite the supposed demolition of the North Korean nuclear test zone.

Pyongyang recently attacked both the US and South Korea for their mutual military training “Max Thunder”.

The recent decision by Trump has a negative effect on Wall Street, as the Dow fell 0.54%, while S&P 500 declined by 0.51%, and Nasdaq lost 0.41%.

The dollar index also dropped around 0.25%, while gold extended its gains to 1.04%.
