TASI slips 0.3%; Nomu extends rise early Sunday
TASI shed 0.3%, while NOMU gained 0.45% early Sunday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) benchmark index opened lower on Sunday, while the NOMU parallel market index commenced the week on a positive note.

The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) shed 0.3% or 24 points, reaching 8,013.83 points by 10:45 am Saudi time.

Turnover amounted to SAR 407.13 million after 22.52 million shares changed hands through 14,300 transactions.

Most of Tadawul’s sectors traded lower, led by the public utilities sector, which lost 0.84%, while the telecommunications sector declined 0.56%, and banks and materials tumbled 0.33% and 0.29%, respectively.

On the other hand, four sectors were in the green, led by the food retailing sector, which grew 2.25%, whereas commercial services added 0.21%.

As for stocks, Wafa Insurance led fallers, sliding 9.91% to SAR 10.18 after the Saudi Monetary Authority (SAMA) issued a statement saying that the company could not issue new or renew insurance documents.

Saudi Cables led Tadawul’s risers, jumping 6.15% to SAR 8.80.

In the meantime, the NOMU parallel market index grew 0.45% or 13.81 points to 3,060.16 points.

Raydan’s stock was the sole gainer, adding 2.79% to SAR 15.50, while NOMU’s remaining stocks were stable.
