Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports to the markets of the Agadir Agreement surged 38.3% to $505 million during the first four months of 2018, from $ 365 million in the year-ago period, General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) said.
The Agadir Agreement is a free trade accord between the North African nation, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia.
Egypt's exports to the African states amounted to $1.27 billion from January to April 2018, compared to $1.021 billion in the same period a year before, GOEIC’s head Ismail Gaber said.
Egyptian exports to European Union (EU) markets increased 17% to $2.39 billion in the first four months of 2018, compared to $2.04 billion in the corresponding period a year ago.
Most of Egypt’s exports went to Turkey, Spain, Jordan, Russia, the UK, the US, and the UAE, Gaber added.
