Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s net international reserves are sufficient to cover staple imports for nine months, the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) governor Tarek Amer said.

November 2016 currency float contributed to improving the country’s current account by 64% in a year, Alborsa News reported, citing Amer as saying.

The CBE’s data previously showed that the North African nation’s foreign reserves edged up 0.2% to $44.138 billion by the end of May, compared to $44.029 billion by the end of April.

The Arab world's most populous country's fiscal year 2018/2019 budget aims at boosting overseas reserves.
