DFM falls 17 pts Wednesday
The banks sector declined 0.58%

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index shed 16.76 points, or 0.57%, to close at 2,922.57 points on Wednesday.

The DFM’s trading volume reached 103.28 million shares, while the market’s liquidity amounted to AED 185.29 million.

The investment sector lost 1.16%, as DFM Company went down 1.92%, while Dubai Investments declined 0.98%.

The real estate sector decreased by 0.72% after Damac Properties tumbled 3.8% and Emaar Properties sank 0.19% to AED 5.14, while Arabtec Holding lost 0.47%.

The banks sector declined 0.58%, as Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) levelled down 1.2%. 

On the other hand, the consumer staples sector rose 0.95%, as DXB Entertainments added 1.02%.

The transportation sector added 0.56% after Aramex grew 1.75%.

Emaar Properties topped the market in terms of liquidity, with a turnover of AED 53.88 million, while GFH led the market in terms of volume, with 14.17 million traded shares.

Despite the decline in the DFM’s general index, the trading was positive above 2,936 points, technical analyst Gamal Abdul Hamid told Mubasher.

The index is expected to level up in the coming session, Abdul Hamid added.
