Eurozone, EU consumer confidence falls in June

Mubasher:  Consumer confidence in both the Eurozone and European Union (EU) dipped in June, the preliminary estimates revealed on Thursday.

Confidence in the Eurozone fell to -0.5 points in June, compared with 0.2 points in the previous month, marking the lowest reading since October last year.

 As for the EU, consumer confidence dropped month-on-month by -1.2 to -1.3 points in the sixth month of the year, according to the Directorate-General Economic and Financial Affairs.

Meanwhile, market analysts expected the consumer confidence in both the Eurozone and EU to remain steady during the month.

By 3:41 pm GMT, the EUR/USD pair went up 0.28% to $1.1604.
