Mubasher: Honda launched on Friday a switch to a new solar energy system at the American Honda Motor Company in California.

With more than 6,000 panels and a two megawatts (MW) direct current, it will be one of Honda’s largest on-site renewable energy installations in the world, PV Magazine reports.

Total annual capacity is expected at 3,000 megawatt hours (MWh).

The Japanese manufacturer is committed to reduce its environmental footprint, by increasing its use of renewable energy sources.

Honda aims at cutting its CO2 emissions by 50% by the year 2050.
