QSE ends Tuesday in green
The insurance sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 1.5%

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note, encouraged by the growth of three sectors.

The general index inched up 9.67 points, or 0.10%, to finish at 9,449.64 points.

The bourse’s liquidity decreased to QAR 190.16 million on Tuesday from QAR 217.93 million on Monday, while the trading volume increased to 7.69 million shares against 7.48 million in the previous session.

The insurance sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 1.5%, as Qatar Insurance and Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance grew 2.5% and 0.18%, respectively.

Similarly, the banking sector rose 0.2%, after Masraf Al Rayan jumped 1.31%.

On the flipside, the real estate sector headed the bourse’s losers falling 0.41% as Ezdan Holding Group and Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development retreated 1.34% and 0.71%, respectively.

The industrial sector went down 0.38%, dragged by Aamal Company’s 1.05% drop.

By the end of the session, Qatar Gas Transport’s (Nakilat) stock led the market in terms of trading volume with 2.1 million shares, generating QAR 32.75 million in liquidity.
