Eurozone annual inflation grows 2% in June, EU stabilises

Mubasher: The Eurozone annual inflation inched up to 2% in June, from 1.9% a month earlier, official data released on Wednesday stated.

In the European Union (EU), the annual rate was steady at 2% last month from in May, the European Union’s (EU) statistical office Eurostat said.

The highest contribution to the annual inflation in the Eurozone came from energy segment by 0.76%, services sector by 0.57%, with 0.53% from food, tobacco and alcohol and 0.10% from non-energy industrial goods.

The lowest rates were observed in Ireland at 0.7%, followed by Greece at 1%, and 1.1% for Denmark.

On the other hand, the highest inflation rates were seen in Romania, Estonia and Hungary at 4.7%, 3.9% and 3.2% respectively.
