QSE closes Wednesday in red
The real estate sector inched down 0.84%

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday's trading session with a negative performance, pressured by the banking and real estate sectors.

The general index levelled down 1.88 points, or 0.02%, to finish at 9,447.76 points.

The bourse’s trading volume stood at 6.27 million shares on Wednesday, down from 7.69 million on Tuesday, while liquidity rose to QAR 235.71 million, from QAR 190.16 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector inched down 0.84% as Ezdan Holding Group’s stock fell 1.61%, while the banks and financial services sector edged down 0.38% after Al Ahli Bank’s stock tumbled 6.12%.

On the other hand, the industrials sector went up 0.24% as Qatari Investors Group’s stock increased 1.64%, while the consumer goods and services sector grew 0.03% after Zad Holding Company’s stock jumped 4.9%.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which rose 0.11%, led the bourse in terms of traded volume after 2.2 million shares were exchanged, while Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which shed 1.24%, topped the market in terms of liquidity after generating a turnover of QAR 93.77 million.
