Saudi indices end Wednesday in decline for 2nd straight session
TASI’s trading volume reached 107.31 million shares on Wednesday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Wednesday's trading session on a negative note for the second session in a row, after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) went down 10.29 points, or 0.12%, to 8,452.30 points.

TASI’s trading volume reached 107.31 million shares on Wednesday, up from 106 million on Tuesday, while traded value inched down to SAR 2.79 billion, from SAR 2.8 billion in the previous session.

The real estate management and development sector tumbled 1.5%, followed by the food and beverages sector with 1.2%.

The consumer durables and apparel, materials and telecommunication services sectors fell 0.6%, 0.4%, and 0.4%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the media, insurance, and banking sectors rose 0.9%, 0.6%, and 0.5%, respectively.

Nama Chemicals’ stock led losers with 6.3%, while Ahlia for Cooperative Insurance’s stock was the best performer after jumping 10%.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock led in terms of trading value after generating a turnover of SAR 529.41 million, while the stock of Alinma Bank topped in terms of traded volume after 18.67 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, NOMU, slid 28.01%, or about 1%, to finish at 2,843.96 points.

Nomu’s trading volume rose to 71,680 shares on Wednesday, from 41,850 shares in the previous session, while its turnover hit SAR 883,900, up from SAR 736,320.

Arab Sea Information System topped the parallel market’s gainers with 2.4%, while Raydan Co’s stock lost 5.7%.

Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock was the most active after 30,600 shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 339,070.
