Etihad Airways to sell 50% of cargo fleet
The five A330Fs jets in question were decommissioned in January

Dubai – Mubasher: Etihad Airways is reportedly in talks to sell five out of ten aircraft that constitute its cargo fleet to one company.

The five A330Fs jets in question were decommissioned in January, the UAE-based carrier’s spokesperson told Arabian Business.

It is just a routine measure any airline would take to renew its fleet and review aircraft requirements, they added.

“It is evident that the lackluster market for A330 freighters has been one reason why Etihad wants to dispose of these poor-freight carrying airplanes, but also because the 777F jets are far more efficient,” analyst at London-based StrategicAero Research Saj Ahmad told Arabian Business.

Earlier in July, Etihad Aviation Group CEO  Tony Douglas stated that Etihad Airways was ready to give up expansion plans.
