Mubasher: The total amount of money transfers by workers in Qatar declined during the first quarter of 2018 by 8.08% year-on-year to a total QAR 10.3 billion ($2.78 billion), as shown by the data of the Qatari central bank.

On the other hand, remittances grew by 3.8% quarter-on-quarter, as it registered QAR 9.76 billion in Q4-11.

Out bounded remittances reached QAR 14.57%, declining by 6.7% compared with the same period last year, while increasing by 11.9% compared with the previous quarter.

As for the incoming transfers to Qatar, it decreased by 9.2% year-on-year, and went up 22.2% quarter-on-quarter, amounting to QAR 1.08 billion.
