Dubai – Mubasher: DAMAC Properties has signed an agreement with Radisson Hotel Group to open the first Radisson-branded luxury hotel in the Middle East at the DAMAC Hills Development in Dubai.

Currently under construction, the hotel is slated for opening in the fourth quarter of 2019, Radisson revealed in a statement.

“Dubai continues to be remarkable in its never-ending evolution. We’re further delighted to introduce our new upscale Radisson brand that delivers its own Scandinavian-inspired hospitality to the region,” commented executive vice president and chief development officer at Radisson Hotel Group Elie Younes said.

Upon completion, the hotel will comprise 481 rooms, including one- and two-bedroom suites, two restaurants, leisure facilities such as a gym, spa, kids club, as well as an outdoor swimming pool, and a 600 square metres of meeting space upon completion.

Meanwhile, DAMAC Properties chairman Hussain Sajwani said that his company’s deal with Radisson would “cater to the ever-growing number of tourists and business travelers who visit the emirate, while making sure hotel guests receive the world-class experience that’s synonymous with the Radisson name.”

Radisson Hotel Group’s portfolio currently includes 81 hotels, housing over 20,000 rooms in operation and under development across the Middle East region.

DAMAC Properties last reported a 45% year-on-year drop in net profit to AED 483.9 million in the first quarter of 2018, citing lower revenues and higher cost of sales.
