ADX goes up 56 pts on banks, telecom Wednesday
The ADX’s trading volume reached 53.61 million shares

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index increased by 55.92 points, or 1.16%, to close at 4,886.14 points on Wednesday, pushed up by the banks and the telecommunications sectors.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 53.61 million shares, while the market’s liquidity amounted to AED 97.36 million.

The banks sector gained 1.73%, as First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) surged 2.54%, while the telecommunication sector and its only stock, Etisalat, added 1.2% each.

On the other hand, the energy sector declined 2.27%, as Taqa dropped 4.24%, while the real estate sector sank 1.5%, as Aldar Properties fell 2.02%.

FAB topped the ADX in terms of both trading volume and value, with 1.63 million shares and a liquidity of AED 23 million.
