Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) fell early Sunday, pressured by foreign and Arab sell-offs.

By 10:20 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index slipped 65.15 points, or 0.43%, to 15,243.47 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched down 0.03% to 742.55 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index dipped 0.15% to 1,897 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index tumbled 0.5% to 2,438 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 17.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 30.7 million through 973 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 238,800, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 169,900 and EGP 68,900, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell sharply by 1.9% to EGP 82.99, with a turnover of EGP 732,000.

EFG Hermes led top losers with 3.23%, followed by Telecom Egypt, which shed 2.64%.
