Abu Dhabi non-oil exports hit AED 12bn in Q2
Export growth was attributed to an increase in the public sector's exports with AED 1.3 billion

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi’s non-oil exports jumped 28.5% year-on-year to AED 11.8 billion in the second quarter of 2018, compared to AED 9.2 billion, according to Abu Dhabi's Statistics Centre data.

Export growth was attributed to an increase in the public sector's exports with AED 1.3 billion or 10.2%, followed by the business sector with AED 1.4 billion, or 15.5%, SCAD’s statement added.

Year-on-year, individuals sector’s exports tumbled 31.1% in the period between April and June.

Total exports of the UAE’s capital and biggest sheikhdom increased by AED 230.1 million or 2% during Q2-18.

On the other hand, Abu Dhabi's imports grew 10.8% to AED 30.3 billion by the end of Q2-18, compared to AED 27.4 billion in the year-ago period.

Higher imports were ascribed to the hike of the public sector's imports by AED 1.6 billion, or 137.8%, while business sector rose AED 1.5 billion or 5.8%.
