Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s energy minister Khalid Al Falih on Sunday has said that he doesn't influence oil prices, commenting on US President Donald Trump's call for the Organization Of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to slash decline fuel cost.
Al Falih said “I do not influence prices” ahead of a meeting of OPEC ministers and allies, including Russia, in Algiers to discuss the situation in oil markets.
“We protect the countries of the Middle East, they would not be safe for very long without us, and yet they continue to push for higher and higher oil prices! We will remember. The OPEC monopoly must get prices down now!” Trump said on Twitter.
In September, the price of Brent oil reached $80 per barrel (pb).
