Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi’s non-oil foreign trade rose 15% to AED 94.1 billion in the first seven months of 2018, compared to AED 92.8 billion during the same period last year.
The increase in non-oil trade ascribed to the growth of re-exports, which registered AED 14.3 billion during the period from January to July, according to the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center’s recent statistics.
The value of non-oil exports increased by 7.5% to AED 13.5 billion during the same period, it said.
On a monthly basis, the UAE’s capital and biggest sheikhdom’s total trade volume increased by 14.4% to AED 14.026 billion in July, compared to AED 12.26 billion registered in the corresponding month a year earlier.
Abu Dhabi's state-run statistics agency added that the total value of non-oil foreign trade through the emirate’s ports reached AED 80.1 billion during the first half of 2018.
The US ranked the first destination for Abu Dhabi’s non-oil exporters, with total exports of AED 1.61 billion, followed by Saudi Arabia.
