Riyadh – Mubasher: The number of female lawyers in Saudi Arabia has soared to 300% in the past period, Saudi justice minister Sheikh Waleed Al-Samaani announced on Monday.

Overall, the number of the lawyers entering the profession in the Kingdom increased by 60%, he added.

“This shows that women’s participation in the legal profession will witness a big leap in coming years and a subsequent promising future for law in the Kingdom,” Al-Samaani added on the sidelines of the Saudi Law Conference.

The minister also noted the government‘s endeavours to encourage the activation of preventive laws that aim to evade aspiring legal conflicts.

Under the rule of King Salman, the Kingdom has undertaken several measures to promote female empowerment, as part of its ambitious Vision 2030.
