TRA to showcase innovative ICT projects, initiatives at GITEX
The five-day event focuses on startups, AI and all cutting-edge technologies and experiences that benefit the masses.

Dubai - Mubasher: The UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has participated in the 38th edition of GITEX Technology Week 2018, which kicked off on Sunday, 14 October and would wrap up on Thursday, 18 October.

The five-day event focuses on startups, artificial intelligence (AI) and all cutting-edge technologies and experiences that benefit the masses.

The Emirati telecommunications regulatory will showcase its latest efforts to develop smart government services through the effective use of innovative information communication technologies (ICT) and its key steps towards the transformation into an advanced and secure digital community in the GCC nation, it said in a statement.

“This participation is characterised by a collective spirit and a focus on the future outlook and innovation in the development of solutions leading to the government of artificial intelligence based on a strong ICT infrastructure,” the TRA’s director general Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori commented.

The TRA’s projects that will be overviewed at the largest gathering of IT companies and executives in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region include ICT Fund that shows its achievements in propping up investment and education in ICT.

The Emirati telecommunications regulatory will also showcase Bashr - the portal that helps establish a new business in just 15 minutes, in addition to User Experience Lab, AI Lens, and the Happiness Journey, it said in a statement on Sunday.

Themed “The Leap”, the TRA journey includes Capture the Signal, which is an interactive game on spectrum management allowing visitors to work as frequency engineers, along with digital tool Happy Digital Community, Penalty Kick, and Man vs Machine project, which highlights the AI power and how the TRA uses robotic technology.
