TASI soars 301 pts, Nomu retreats Monday
The media sector increased 8.6%

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) skyrocketed 300.98 points, or 4.1%, to 7,567.57 points, registering its highest growth in 16 months, or since 21 June 2017 session.

TASI’s traded volume reached 225.84 million shares, down from 251.11 million shares on Sunday, while the main market's liquidity fell to SAR 6.27 billion, from SAR 6.69 billion.

The media sector increased 8.6%, followed by the food and beverages sector with 7.6%, while the energy, materials, telecommunication services and banking sectors surged 7.2%, 4.9%, 4.2%, and 3.6%, respectively.

The stocks of Saudi Industrial Export Company (SIEC), Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Co. (SAFCO), and National Gas and Industrialization Co (GASCO) levelled up 10% each.

On the flipside, the Saudi Cable Company’s stock dipped 2.1%, while SEDCO Capital REIT Fund’s stock shed 0.6%.

Alinma Bank’s stock topped TASI in terms of trading volume after 20.35 million shares were exchanged, while Al Rajhi Bank’s stock led in terms of liquidity after generating SAR 1 billion.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, went down 23.55 points, or 1%, to finish at 2,373.19 points.

Nomu’s turnover tumbled to SAR 829,320, from SAR 1.71 million on Sunday, while traded volume slumped to 67,240 shares, from 107,560.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock fell 1.8% and Al Omran Industrial and Trading Company’s stock decreased 1.6%, whereas the stock of Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company grew 1.6%.

Al Omran Industrial and Trading Company’s stock acquired the parallel market’s activities after 32,400 shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of SAR 375,380.
