US shale oil output to rise 98,000 bpd in November

Mubasher: Crude oil production from the seven most prolific US shale regions was set to jump by 98,000 barrels per day (bpd) to a total of 7.714 million bpd in November, official report said.

Oil production in the Permian Basin, which covers western parts of Texas and southeastern New Mexico would make the largest contribution with an increase of 53,000 bpd in November to 3.549 million bpd, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its monthly Drilling Productivity Report on Monday.

The second largest increase was expected to come from Eagle Ford at 15,000 bpd to 1.438 million bpd, while Bakken production would add 13,000 bpd to a total of 1.354 million bpd.

Data was released ahead of the closing of oil trading session, in which US Nymex crude finished 0.6% higher at $71.78 per barrel (pb).

By 8:10 am GMT, Nymex futures dipped 0.78% to $71.22 pb, while global benchmark Brent crude futures fell 0.68% to $80.23 pb.
